The Additive Manufacturing Lab is located in MD264, and is The Cube's primary hub. It is supported by the EUS and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and is run by some of the coolest people on earth.


The equipment listed below is on campus to serve students and researchers - it is used by our technicians to fulfill your manufacturing needs. Ultimaker S5

The Ultimaker S5 is is a powerful, reliable, and versatile 3D printer that delivers industrial-class results. It can print in a wide variety of materials, including PVA (dissolvable support). Build volume is 33.0 L X 24.0 W X 30.0 H (cm).


Form2

The FormLabs Form2 offers excellent print quality in a wide range of materials. Best suited for high-precision applications. Build volume is 14.5 L x 14.5 W x 17.5 H (cm).


Ultimaker 2 Extended +

The Ultimaker 2 Extended + is a very versatile FDM printer, capable of printing ABS, PLA, and flexible material. Build volume is 22.3 L X 22.3 W X 30.0 (cm).


Mark One

The Mark One is a composite 3D printer, that reinforces your parts with strategically embedded carbon fiber, kevlar or fiberglass. The parts can exhibit higher strength-to-weight than 6061 aluminum. In fact, parts will be about 24x stronger than those printed in ABS plastic with traditional FDM technology. Build volume is 13.2 L x 32.0 W x 15.4 H (cm).


Zortrax M200

The Zortrax M200 is a thermoplastic 3D printer characterized by outstanding dimensional accuracy and precision, and is one of the top rated consumer 3D printers currently on the market. Build volume is 20.0 L x 20.0 W x 18.0 H (cm).


MakerBot Z18

The MakerBot Replicator Z18 is a thermoplastic 3D printer with a massive build volume and the quality people have come to expect from MakerBot. Ideal for printing large parts. Build volume is 30.0 L x 30.5 W x 45.7 H (cm).

MakerBot Replicator 2

The MakerBot Replicator 2 is a thermoplastic 3D printer with the capability to print in standard and flexible PLA material. Great for quick or physically flexible prototypes. Build volume is 28.5 L X 15.3 W X 15.5 H (cm).
